E-mail is very popular and growing in importance every day for a number of reasons... E-mail conquers d i s t a n c e like a phone call. You don't have to be in the same place at the same time to communicate. It also conquers time. You don't have to communicate at the same time either, similar to sending a letter. It's fast. E-mail usually takes seconds to deliver but may take several minutes to retrieve. E-mail is cheap. The only costs involved are for your connection. E-mail uses no paper. E-mail supports one to many communications -- just like mailing POSTCARDS out to a mailing list, E-mail can be electronically processed, forwarded, copied and saved for future reference. E-mail provides a trackable record of communication.
